A RAFT of new legislation is set to keep a team of East Lancashire employment lawyers busy this year.
The minimum wage, the working time regulations and the new Fairness at Work Law which includes compulsory recognition of trade unions will all affect local firms.
And Rayner Jones, head of the Forbes Employment Law Unit, believes it will lead to a surge in work.
The unit was set up in Blackburn 15 months ago and is believed to be the only dedicated employment law practice in Lancashire.
"Companies are seeing the real benefits in using a local but specialist unit which can offer a service which is as good as if not better than that provided in the 'City' at less cost," said Raynor.
The firm is organising a seminar in conjunction with the East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce to look at what lies ahead on February 24 at the Dunkenhalgh Hotel.
