POSSIBLY because they are not able to understand the jargonese therein, many people are facing fines for not returning their self-assessment tax returns on time.
May I suggest a simpler, easier tax form worded thus:
1. How much did you earn last year?
2. How much of that amount did you spend?
3. What, if any, is left?
4. Send it.
