THERE have been countless complaints about dogs fouling the pavements and other public areas. All of these could be well founded.
You cannot blame the dog - maybe the owner. For let's consider human failings - walk around any town centre, you will see vast amounts of chewing gum - discarded willy-nilly, turning the walkways into ugly eyesores.
It's just pure carelessnes, or people being to idle to find a bin.
People caught in this dirty practice should be entered into the same category as litter louts.
At least litter (paper, etc) can be collected.
Come on, folks, let's put the mess where it belongs. Have a bit of pride in your town.
K SOWERBUTTS (Mr), Southwood Drive, Baxenden.
