EMPLOYEES are being urged to 'Give some time in '99' to help the local community.
The Blackburn Partnership Employee Involvement project aims to match up companies in the borough with needy causes in the area.
Firms already involved include Marks & Spencer, Whitbread and ICI Acrylics and projects range from painting community centres and planting gardens to organising social events and staging collections of unwanted items.
"The emphasis is not on spending money but on giving time and transferring skills to community groups and voluntary organisations in the area," explained Wendy Hobson, employee involvement manager.
