FORMER Burnley boss Chris Waddle remains keen to return to a management role.
Waddle is currently on the coaching staff at Sheffield Wednesday following a short playing stint with Torquay United earlier this season.
But he hopes to put his experience as manager at Turf Moor last summer to good use in the future.
"I am enjoying being involved again in a different way. There isn't as much responsibility as the other side (management) but I enjoyed that a lot and I'm sure one day I'll go back into it," said Waddle.
He is, however, ready to wait for the right opportunity to make a successful fist of his second bite at the cherry.
"When I go back into it I want it to be right to give myself a chance," added the former England winger who was recently linked with the vacant post at Hartlepool.
Waddle relived the glory days last week when he returned to Tyneside to honour ex-Newcastle and England team-mate Peter Beardsley.
The 38-year-old played a part in the Beardsley's testimonial against Scottish champions Celtic as the Beardsley-Keegan-Waddle combination was reunited in front of 36,000 at St James's Park.
"It was good to see some old faces. In fact there were more old ones than new ones!" said Waddle.
WITHOUT wishing to tempt fate, Luton Town's visit to Turf Moor this afternoon should have guaranteed goals.
Luton haven't shared in a goalless draw in the League for 32 games. And Burnley haved played out only two 0-0 draws since Boxing Day, 1997, ironically both against Walsall.
TICKETS for Burnley's home clash with Manchester City on Tuesday, March 9 are on still sale from the club's ticket office. The match is all-ticket.
FORMER Burnley winger Ashley Hoskin has been appointed as coach at Unibond League strugglers Accrington Stanley.
Hoskin, who made around 100 appearances for the Clarets in the second half of the 1980s, started the season as a player with Stanley.
But he now wants to concentrate on the coaching side of the game and joins the backroom staff of recently appointed manager Wayne Harrison.
Another ex-Claret at Stanley, Les Thompson, didn't break a leg as first feared in Stanley's mid-week cup tie with Darwen.
THE CLARETS board will meet representatives from the various supporters' clubs for a second time at Turf Moor next Tuesday night.
