GIRL power was in abundance in Padiham as 40 girls aged 14 to 21 created a billboard to celebrate International Women's Day.
They were taking part in a project organised by Mary Parker from Lancashire County Council's Youth and Community Service at Padiham Youth Centre.
Fellow youth worker Pat Hayes explained: "We had two artists from Preston-based arts centre Prescap, Elaine Bennett and Barbara Silvano, and they were working with groups of young girls on 12 parts of the bill board.
"When they are complete they will spell the work empowerment in semaphore flags."
The picture will go on display in Standish Street, Burnley, in time for International Women's Day on March 8. The group is now looking to raise £100 so the billboard can be photographed and made into postcards.
