YOUNG artists used their creative skills to paint and draw a picture to promote the safe use of escalators.
Last year, a series of talks was held to teach schoolchildren how to use the borough's market escalators in safety and as a follow-up the youngsters were asked to produce a picture.
The four best artists, Nabeela Iram and Farah Jaleel, of Lomeshaye Juniors, Nelson, Stephanie Ainsworth, of Barrowford Primary and Aliya Iqban, of Marsden Primary, Nelson, were invited to collect Safe-T-Rider T-shirts at Nelson's Admiral Market Place.
Market manager Ian Wharton, said: "The initial series of talks proved so successful with schools that we have been asked to provide more in the future.
"However we are now seeking sponsorship for the costs of transporting the children by minibus to the market and we are appealing for local businesses and organisations for any assistance they can offer."
At the presentation Liam O'Callaghan, 11, was presented with a £20 voucher after winning Pendle Council's Christmas competition to spot Rudolph.
