IN the hounding of Glenn Hoddle, the media are as much to blame in setting back the cause of 'the disabled.'
Common sense and decency should have dictated that his remarks were recognised for what they were and received minimum publicity.
All the publicity hawks, from the Prime Minister down, referred to those less fortunate than the average man and woman as 'the disabled' rather than as people (which they are) with physical or mental disabilities.
