LANCASHIRE are banking on a bumper 1999 after removing their 14,000 membership ceiling. "People want to watch a winning side, and we are arguably the most successful team of the 1990s," said chief executive Jim Cumbes.
"We are staging a series of high profile matches, including three World Cup games, a Test, and four day-nighters in the new National League, and Old Trafford is the place to be this year to watch some of the best players in the game."
Lancashire's membership dipped slightly last year after the disappointing 1997 campaign, but the 1998 triumphs with a NatWest Trophy and Axa League double and runners up spot in the championship are bound to bring in new fans.
