REGARDING the timetable of events planned in Blackburn for the year 2000, with 50 different 'theme' weeks of festival fun (LET, January 16), I note that the promoters of the South Asia theme have been imposed upon to provide entertainment for three weeks in July, whereas others only have one week.
Curiously, the Greek theme is to amalgamate with the Arabic one for one week in April.
I'm flummoxed as to what these two cultures have in common and why they cannot also each be granted a week in July.
