BURNLEY beat both their opponents and the abysmal weather to maintain their 100 per cent record and their runaway success in the Lancashire Girls' League.
The visitors dominated the first 10 minutes without really troubling Burnley's keeper Natalie Brierley.
After 16 minutes when Burnley had adapted to playing against a stiff wind, they opened the scoring when captain and player of the match Stephanie Meeks cut in and drove home a low left foot shot.
The rest of the half remained goalless even though both sides created a number of chances.
Fleetwood struggled in the second period as Burnley applied the pressure and Danielle Cooper scored with a low right-footer on 58 minutes.
The Fleetwood keeper made an unconventional but effective save from Lisa Thompson, but Burnley's third wasn't far off.
Holly Pointon hit the target on 63 minutes after Meeks and Thompson had combined well.
The league leaders' formidable defensive duo of Louise Hartley and Donna Millar coped well, but goalkeeper Brierley was a spectator for long periods.
Substitute Amy Bamber came on for Hartley and within minutes had made excellent challenges to deny Fleetwood as Burnley finished the game in style.
Burnley team: Brierley, Hartley, Millar, Pointon, Thompson, Meeks, Cooper. Sub: Bamber.
