RAIDERS ransacked MP Peter Pike's office in an overnight break-in at Burnley Labour headquarters.
The burglars kicked in a door panel of the first-floor Labour party office in Victoria Street before going to the ground-floor room used by the MP.
Mr Pike had left the office at 6pm last night.
Drawers were ransacked, papers scattered and a fax machine and telephone stolen.
It was discovered by constituency secretary John Keene this morning. Police are investigating.
Mr Keene said he was still assessing what had gone, but said it looked like the thieves were searching for cash, which was never kept there.
Mr Pike said he was most concerned whether any files relating to constituents' problems had been destroyed or stolen.
