MANY top fashion designers are still using fur. Fashion is about moving with the times as well as evolving moral and ethical perceptions. Only 13 designers out of 120 have made a commitment not to use fur, including Stella McCartney.
Wearing fur is not an aid to human welfare, but human vanity and commercial profit and, as such, cannot be justified.
In the UK, 16 fur farms raise 100,000 mink each year. The Labour Party has affirmed its policy to ban this industry. Letters of support are important to ensure that this pledge is acted upon. Write to Tony Blair.
