TWO East Lancashire councils are in the running for a top ecological award.
Burnley and Blackburn with Darwen councils have entered a competition run by environmental group Going For Green.
It aims to find the council which has recycled the most Christmas trees per thousand population. Councils have to send in their results by Monday.
Anyone who has still not disposed of their Christmas tree can find out how to recycle it by contacting their council.
