THIS week is "National Chip Week" and it is very much at home at my house.
But, as your Food News writer Amanda Killelea says (LET, February 11) prices at chippies may be sky-high because of the rainy weather, hitting the potato crop.
So I suggest buying a quarter pound of tripe or elder instead serving it with a few home-made onion rings and cucumber. Yummy!
Or just call at Bob's chip shop in Barnes Square, Clayton-le-Moors. The price is right.
And after all, one big potato makes quite a few chips.
