A CAREERS officer who has worked in the service for 40 years has retired.
Dorothy Maskell, from Dunsop Bridge near Clitheroe, joined the careers service as a junior clerk in 1958.
She later worked in Pendle before moving on to Hyndburn and the Ribble Valley.
Dorothy, 56, has also been an active member of Slaidburn's Women's Institute for many years.
She said: "I joined Pendle careers office as a generic careers office officer and I can honestly say I've never looked back. It was the best thing I ever did."
