AS his faltering career at the top was rescued by Alan Curbishley's offer of a place at Charlton, you might have thought John Barnes would have shown a little appreciation.
But all the erstwhile international star could produce was a rather begrudging acceptance.
"I haven't played all season and the opportunity to still play in the Premier League, albeit for Charlton, was too good to resist," he said.
A touch ungrateful wouldn't you say.
