A YOUNG hockey star whose dream is to one day represent England at the Olympic Games has been given a vital helping hand.
Schoolgirl goalkeeper Sarah Rushton has been awarded kit sponsorship through a Community Fund recently established by Clayton-based floorcoverings company Gaskell Textiles.
Sarah, 14, of Durham Drive, Oswaldtwistle, plays for St Wilfrid's CoE High School, Blackburn, and Blackburn Northern hockey club.
She has already represented Lancashire and is tipped to eventually make the national team.
But she was finding it increasingly difficult to fund her hobby . . . until generous Gaskell stepped in!
"Playing for England at the Olympics is my dream but hockey is an expensive sport and I was struggling to afford a full kit," said Sarah.
