MORE news on the music front this week. As you know, at the moment it's the return of all the oldies like Cher, Duran Duran and most recently, Blondie. And it looks like there's also another band that may be making a comeback pretty soon - remember The Bangles?
Well their lead singer, Susannah Hoffs has been writing some new stuff and have been seen going to recording studios closely followed by Vicky and Michelle, the other two band members. So watch this space. The Bangles Eternal Flame may not be out yet.
Here are this week's three new songs in the Star Beat Record Review
The Venga Boys - We Like To Party
This single was actually released ages ago - well before their debut hit Up and Down - but it didn't do very well. Now it's back and it's been re-mixed by good friends of Run DMC, Jason Nevins and it's absolutely brilliant. This looks set to overtake the 300,000 sales of Up and Down making it at least top five status. It's very similar to Up and Down but a lot more addictive. Out on February 22.
George Michael and Mary J Blige - As
Taken from the superb album Ladies and Gentlemen George has teamed up with soul diva Mary J Blige. This song has been hammered by all radio stations across the country already - it's a really easy listening, laid back song with superb gospel vocals in the chorus. Absolutely love it - out on March 3.
N Sync - I Want You Back
One of the latest boy bands to join the pop scene but already very well known across Europe and the US with this particular single going gold and peaking at number three in the Billboard cart. These boys have an album out at the moment which is in the top ten in the charts so on that basis I'd say they're pretty good. If you're in to boy band pop - then look out for N Sync on your radios and TV screens soon.
