CHILDREN'S author Peter Hayden stopped off at Brownedge St Mary's RC High on a tour of Preston secondary and primary schools.
Peter has written several books including Stringy Simon, The Day Trip, and The Headmaster's Daughter, and is founder of the Crazy Horse Kids' Press which publishes books by teenagers.
He visited local schools to give talks, readings, workshops and signing sessions for all ages.
Children at Brownedge St Mary's listened to readings from one of his books, The Great Premium Bond Swizzle, and joined in follow-up work which was geared towards exams and coursework.
Peter, who was director of the Birmingham Readers and Writers Festival 'Young Readers and Writers' from 1989-91 and has extensive experience of teaching from junior level to sixth form, will next visit Wellfield High School on March 2.
