ACCORDING to a recent report in the Bury Times, Bolton Road Methodist Church still lacks the money needed for a new church.
Surely this divine intervention means there is still time for them to reverse the terrible decision to build on the existing sports field and the consequent need to also behind Foulds Avenue, off Ainsworth Road.
The fact that clergy are associated with developers is to be deplored and is proof that present-day Christian authorities are becoming increasingly materialistic. Further proof, in general, is the felling of trees for church car parks, building in church grounds, and a lack of interest in nature or the environment. Surely the church authorities should be sensitive to such issues.
