THIS Sunday (Feb 21) Blackpool rally ace Neil Wearden will be strapping himself into his Vauxhall Astra Sri to compete in Silverstone's eagerly awaited 1999 RallySprint season opener, the TV Masters Challenge.
The 26-year-old rising start of British rallying will make up one third of Vauxhall's star-studded team which also includes former Formula One legend and British touring car driver Derek Warwick and ex-British rally champion David Llewellin.
RallySprint is a thrilling new form of rallying, brought to life for the first time in the UK at Silverstone's Roger Clark circuit.
For spectators, the challenging 1.93km course allows close quarter viewing of rally cars flying over 'yumps' and careering through watersplashes.
Adult tickets are £6 in advance and £10 on the gate. Children aged 15 and under get in free.
