STUDENTS at a Lytham school had the chance to hear about the dangers of drugs at first hand.
Former addict Ian Treasure visited King Edward VII School to talk about his personal experiences. The visit is part of the school's drug awareness programme which has included visits from performing poet Phil Cooper, the M6 Theatre Company and the Choices course presented by Lancashire Constabulary.
Mr Treasure talked about the effects of drugs and answered questions from a very attentive audience. "The students were very keen to learn and I was impressed by their thoughtful approach," he said.
Matthew Trusch, 14, felt that Mr Treasure adopted exactly the right approach. "He didn't preach or lecture but he simply let his own experiences speak for themselves," he said. "It was a very sobering message for us all."
