Blackpool Stanley 46 Parr Hare & Hounds nil THIS was another painful learning experience for a young Hounds outfit - with no less than nine teenagers in their 15-man squad - at the hands of a big and typically robust Blackpool outfit.
And once again the Parr Stocks Road lads were architects of their own downfall as they failed to master the basics of retaining possession for the full six tackles.
In the opening quarter, this looked set to be as close an encounter as the sides' meeting earlier this season when Stanley triumphed by 20-16 thanks to a last-minute try.
But after defending grittily for 20 minutes, Hounds finally cracked, allowing the seasiders to race into an 18-nil interval lead.
The second half followed a similar pattern to the first, with Hounds making a promising start only to fade when the burden of having to do three times as much tackling as their bigger opponents took its toll.
Injuries also hampered an already-depleted Hounds side and Blackpool ran in a further 28 points without reply.
Best for the losers were centre Paul Thompson, second-row Phil Thompson and winger Mike Corrigan.
