WITH reference to the article about the rise in council house rents (The Journal, February 11).
I would first of all like to congratulate Geoff Roberts, Housing Chairman. I have just received a pension rise of £3.79, plus Cllr Roberts' 8% Council Tax rise. This gives me a grand cost of living rise of 17p. Would he like to swap his expenses for my rise.
If the people and voters of Atherton allow this bunch of speculators any further latitude, we will go back further than the Library Street cowboys agreed.
We have a speech from Cllr Roberts about efficiency. Our wheelie bin was stolen. The council told us it would take 28 days to rectify.
