I SEE the pigeons are not to be fed in Railway Road, Leigh, because of the mess they make.

Once again the pigeons are a nuisance. Well, what about the litter everywhere. I have yet to see pigeons dropping pizza plates/coke cans, leaving bottles on pavements, especially at the side of litter bins and window ledges.

Also, the pigeons don't sit in the churchyard and on the library square drinking scrumpy then flying across to the town hall, dropping bottles and cans downs the railings, and in the trees along the by-pass.

It's like the ducks in Firs Park, they drink out of bottles and cans while sitting on mattresses which are dumped in the lake in the night, then use the vacuum cleaner, watch TV, mow the grass with all the cones around them, because all these are dumped in the lake.

If people would stop feeding the pigeons on the road and feed them in the so-called garden in Railway Road, they would stay there. And if people would would watch them to see how clever they are, they would know.

We are trying our best for Firs Park, but we have to thank God for the birds and the wildlife, and thank God cows don't fly and the litter louts don't fly, or we would be in a real mess.

And they don't drive cars on Firs Park and burn them out either.
