ALL systems are go for little Adam Foulkes' American swim with the dophins.
Thanks to fund-raisers, the family will be heading for Florida on March 10 for 11-year-old Adam's two weeks of intensive pool treatment, which they hope will help him talk and walk.
Now mum and dad, Diana and Rob, want to thank everyone for their generosity in helping to pay for the therapy for Adam, a pupil at Two Porches Special School, Atherton.
Around £8,000 has been collected from the police, Bolton Mayor's Fund, schools, pubs and groups and it will all go towards the cost of the therapy sessions.
The Childflight charity will pay for Diana and Adam's fares.
Dad Rob said: "We first saw the treatment on a Granada programme and thought it might work for Adam, who was born with Downs Syndrome.
"We contacted the American Embassy and got details of the Miami Seaquarium. Then a friend found appropriate information on the Internet. We contacted the centre and the doctors gave the go-ahead.
"We started fund raising last year and are delighted that some wonderful people have helped to get two weeks of intensive treatment for Adam."
Diana, who works at Dumplington's Disney Store, said: "We are thrilled to have been given a date after quite a wait.
"We hope the treatment will help Adam. He loves water, but his concentration level at the moment is zilch. We hope swimming with the dolphins will aid his progress."
