RADCLIFFE'S East Lancashire Paper Mill Company is investing in new capacity for its manufacturing divisions.
Following the highly successful relaunch of its flagship woodfree ELAN colour range of papers and the launch last summer of its new wood-free range of coloured boards, it is seeking quotations for the upgrade of one of its other paper machines to enable the manufacture of more wood-free coloured papers and board grades.
The mill is said to need the increased capacity to cover the expected demand for coloured boards and for short run colour work in the coming year.
The company has recently completed a major upgrade to the drying section of PM1, its most modern packaging machine, and upgrades to its other packaging machine, PM2, are currently in the planning stage for implementation later this year.
ELPM chief executive Mr Andrew Rothwell said: "We have been very pleased with the response to the new-look coloured papers and boards and we now need to plan for further growth in the years ahead."
He added: "We are totally committed to the development of our packaging and coloured paper and board ranges, and in the present market conditions we will maximise and develop opportunities as they arise within these sectors."
