BUSINESS leaders from the North West were among key figures invited to a briefing with senior Government ministers at the Millennium Dome.
The team was led by St Helens Council leader, Mike Doyle, chairman of the North West Regional Assembly, and Lord Thomas of Macclesfield, chairman of the Regional Development Agency (RDA).
The delegation was joined in London by business and government leaders from the North East, Yorkshire and Humberside regions and presentations included an overview of the Millennium Experience and provided detailed commentary of the national programme of activities planned at the dome for the regions.
Mike Doyle, who is also deputy chairman of the RDA, said: "As someone who is working with colleagues in the public, private and voluntary sectors our aim is to seek and deliver inclusive, exciting and innovative projects which will make a lasting difference in the region. The visit offered the possibility for the North West to seize the opportunities which the Millennium Dome offers. Any opportunity to promote the North West as a key inward investment area should be fully explored."
