A STUDENT indie evening, a soul music disco and an open-mic comedy spot are the new regular nights at a recently-established bar venue in Blackburn.

North, in Town Hall Street, Blackburn, is trying to provide a unique atmosphere for younger people in the town and is run by Ronnie Brown, manager of the Ministry of Vinyl record shop opposite.

The open-mic comedy night, called Pin Back Your Ears, is on Wednesday, while Thursday is student night and Friday is a soul disco.

The bar is in the building formerly occupied by Beetlestones Restaurant and Cafe Bar.
