EAST Lancashire Information Centres were among the first in the country to complete the new English Tourist Board Business Planning training course.
Dorothy Naylor, chief executive for the North West Tourist Board, will award certificates to representatives from Accrington, Blackburn, Burnley, Clitheroe and Rawtenstall Tourist Information Centres next week. She said: "This new training initiative will help further improve the management of Tourist Information Centres to improve customer service and encourage visitors to stay longer and make more return visits." Coun Ian Ormerod, chairman of the Lancashire Hill Country Tourism Consortium, said: "East Lancashire is leading the way in improving Tourist Information Centres and the service offered to the public."
