THOMAS McClung, 20, of Bute Crescent, Paisley, Glasgow, was fined £150 with £45 costs by Blackburn magistrates after admitting using threatening behaviour and failing to answer bail.
Emma Keogh, prosecuting, said McClung and three other men were standing in the middle of Anyon Street, Darwen.
When they were approached by police, all four began shouting "oink, oink".
"It appeared to a police sergeant that McClung had either been drinking or taking drugs, as he was sweating and frothing at the mouth," said Miss Keogh.
"The officer went to take hold of his arm and McClung shrugged him off and tried to punch the officer."
Simon Farnsworth, defending, said McClung had moved to Scotland to get away from acquaintances in Darwen who were drinkers.
"He accepts that he had been drinking but denies throwing a punch at the officer," said Mr Farnsworth.
"This was an incident fuelled by drink and bravado within his group."
