Clarets directors have taken delivery of three historic items which will be among the star exhibits in a new museum at Turf Moor.
Burnley Football Club paid just under £10,000 for two gold winners' medals and an FA Cup Final shirt at a Sotheby's auction in London.
Club historian Ray Simpson discovered the league winners medal, the FA Cup Final Winners medal and the shirt were all due to go under the hammer and urged the club to bid for the items.
The shirt was worn by Willie Watson in Burnley's famous 1-0 FA Cup Final win over Liverpool at Crystal Palace in 1914.
Watson's medal from Burnley's 1920/21 championship season was also bought by the club.
And the 1914 FA Cup medal presented to goalkeeper Ronnie Sewell completed the purchases.
Clarets treasurer Alan Beecroft travelled to London to bid for the three items on behalf of the club.
Burnley chairman Barry Kilby said: "The club has bought these things to start off a collection.
"It is important because this is part of our heritage and something that we have that other clubs don't."
Mr Kilby will be donating pieces from his own private collection to give the new display a boost.
The club also wants supporters with any interesting items to contact it.
The aim is to open a museum at Turf Moor which will be open to the public on match days.
