DETECTIVES were today still questioning two people about a young woman plunging through a bedroom window and suffering serious injuries.
Nineteen-year-old Kelly Duckworth suffered head injuries, broken bones and internal injuries when she crashed through a first floor window of a house in Branch Road, Burnley, on to the road shortly before 9am on Tuesday. She was transferred from Burnley General Hospital to Hope Hospital, Manchester, where she was 'critical' today.
A man and a woman from the house were arrested and were today being questioned by Burnley detectives.
Police successfully applied to magistrates for an extra 24 hours to question them.
Acting Det Supt Mike Arnold today renewed his appeal to the public for information.
He said: "Kelly is a single girl. She had been staying at the house but has been using a number of addresses staying with various friends in the Burnley area.
"The initial response from the people of the area was good but we still need more information.''
Written in red on a front downstairs window of the house were the words "Hotel doss house. Take wot you want and more.''
Police still want to hear from anyone who saw that message being written sometime in the hours leading up to the incident.
Anyone who can help is asked to contact police on 01282 425001 or ring Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
