A YOUTH who was questioned by police after an incident in which an 83-year-old man's dog was killed will not be prosecuted, it has been revealed.
Andrew Czocher's sheepdog Sheba died after a savage attack by a bull terrier in Stanley Street, Accrington, in November.
Police interviewed a 16-year-old youth from the Accrington area and assembled a file of evidence after the incident, but the Crown Prosecution Service has decided he will not be charged.
Inspector Stephen Lee of Accrington Police said: "There was no evidence to suggest the dog did not just slip its lead, rather than being set on Mr Czocher's dog.
"The CPS has said there is not enough evidence to bring a prosecution and I accept that decision."
