CLOSER links have been forged between Lancashire's aerospace industry and firms in Australia.
The Consortium of Lancashire Aerospace, which represents more than 140 firms in the region, has signed a joint accord with the Australian Industry Defence Network.
The signing took place at the Australian International Air Show in Victoria at which the CLA is exhibiting.
The agreement is aimed at encouraging further international co-operation between firms from both countries.
"We are delighted to reach this accord against the backdrop of Australia's key aerospace event," said CLA chief executive Mike Clifford.
"It is imperative that we set the example for our member companies to follow, given the global nature of our business."
East Lancashire firms exhibiting with the consortium at the show include Hurel-Dubois of Burnley, Euravia of Kelbrook and Weston of Foulridge.
