I WAS most upset and offended by the article entitled 'Schools OUT and Luxury Homes are IN' (Journal February 11).
I would like to point out that the referral to the drab Victorian buildings could not in my opinion be further from the truth.
The building which has stood alongside Tyldesley Parish Church for many years has not only added character to the town, but along with the head and staff, has provided a caring and loving environment to the many pupils who have been fortunate enough to be taught there. This building has a homely and friendly atmosphere, as many of your colleagues will be aware of.
I only hope that the next tenants can generate the same atmosphere in to the community as the school has.
Caring past pupil, parent and friend
