TWO Blackpool teenagers are being given a unique opportunity to influence the look of the controversial Millennium Dome.
Kenny Logue and Erin Shanagher, both pupils at St Mary's RC High School, are helping to come up with ideas for an identity section of the monument and if they have their way it will feature something to represent their home town.
The pair were chosen some time ago to represent Blackpool on a regional Millennium committee.
As well as playing a part in the resort's own celebrations for the year 2000, they are also being given a say on what happens nationally.
For their contribution they will be among the first people in the country to see the Millennium Dome both before and after it's finished.
Said Kenny: "This is a brilliant opportunity for us and we're really excited about getting to visit the dome.
It's something we'll be able to tell our children one day."
