HOW I agree with Mrs C Lloyd (Letters, February 15). Why should we have to live surrounded by others' filth? Have people no pride in where they live?
I walk my dog most days and, yes, I do clean up after her.
But I wonder why I bother, when I see the amount of dog dirt, discarded rubbish, etc, on Delph Lane in Blackburn, despite there being a nursery and junior school at the top.
People still allow their dogs to defecate right outside the school gates.
Parents taking their children to school must be sick of the sight of rubbish and dog dirt. Yet nothing is done about this area.
But don't blame the council, as, when I rang up about an overflowing litter bin on Delph Lane, it was emptied the same day.
Another problem is the amount of discarded and often-broken glass bottles. I have lost count of the times I pick these up.
Don't people realise the damage that broken glass can cause to children and animals?
So come on, Blackburn, let's have a blitz on rubbish and make us proud to live in Blackburn.
