LOWER sixth form students from King Edward VII School in Lytham are cashing in on the school's 90th anniversary by selling specially designed ties
The students set up the company Enigma last October, under the Young Enterprise scheme.
Managing director Yousaf Bux, 17, feels that the company researched their idea well.
"We have tried to identify the potential market for the anniversary ties very clearly," he said, "and to ensure that the design and price are right."
To make sure that they follow correct financial and business practice, the company has special advisers from the world of industry - Graham Smith from Guardian Royal Exchange and Peter Holme from Inenco.
Their production director Mark Roberts is confident that the ties will appeal to the present students and to the old boys of King Edward.
"They are top quality production, specially manufactured for us in Edinburgh," he said. "Advance orders are very promising"
The company will wind up in March and hope to make a substantial pay out to shareholders prior to the Fylde Area Young Enterprise Presentation Evening in April.
