THIS weekend's Mather Signs Bay Stages at Flookburgh is the second round of the regional one venue series and vital for crews looking to beat Morecambe's Alan Peat and Steve Turner to the Flookbugh Challenge title.
The event is also the second round of the RSM/Diamond Products Stage Championship run by KLMC with the first round, the North West Stages, taking place last weekend in Wallasey. Only two local competitors took part in the multi-venue event with Dave Hurst/Karen Heys finishing second in class and fifth overall in their Astra and Joe Waters/Katy Mashiter finishing in a similar place in their class and eighth overall.
This weekend's event is the traditional start to many of the championship's run by local clubs and promises a good day's action with competitors from all over the region. The first car will start at 8.30am for the first of 12 stages and spectators are welcome.
