A SPRIGHTLY couple have proved that age is no barrier when it comes to falling in love.
And this weekend 87-year-old Ann Thomas and her husband-to-be John Harris - a mere 'stripling' at 79! - will tie the knot at their local church.
The happy couple are both residents at Ashtons Green Nursing Home, Parr who first met last year when widow Ann moved in.
Alan Thomas, Ann's only child, who lives in Mount Pleasant Avenue, Derbyshire Hill, told the Star: "I'm made up that they have decided to get hitched. They are both still quite active for their age and John has definitely put the shine back in my mum's eyes, I've not seen her look this happy for years."
Ann and John, who has never been married before, will say 'I do' on Saturday, February 27 at St Peter's Church, Parr, watched by family and friends.
