A MAN was warned that he could face prison after admitting driving less than three months after being disqualified.
Troy Bennett, 27, of Lily Street, Darwen, pleaded guilty at Blackburn magistrates to driving while disqualified and without insurance. The magistrates adjourned the case for pre-sentence reports and the chairman warned Bennett "your liberty is seriously at risk."
Wendy Shackleton, prosecuting, said an officer who knew Bennett saw him driving and other mobile patrols were alerted. One of them spotted Bennett driving away from a petrol station and followed him to an alley where he left the car and went into a house.
At first Bennett denied being the driver of the car but later admitted that he had driven to Blackburn and back.
Julian Peers, defending, said Bennett had borrowed the vehicle from a friend.
"There is no good excuse for driving while disqualified and that is something he has resigned himself to," said Mr Peers.
Bennett was remanded on bail until March 18.
