BRIAN Reid and Mark Robertson have been offered new deals to keep them at Turf Moor.

The pair are out of contract in the summer but Stan Ternent wants them to stay and form part of his future plans.

The Burnley boss confirmed: "I have made Brian Reid and Mark Robertson offers to stay and it's up to them.

"I haven't heard from them but I expect to sooner or later.

"I would hope they stay but they have the right to exercise their options and they can go where they want."

Reid joined the Clarets as a free agent last September following his departure from Greenock Morton at the end of last season.

And one or two below-par performances apart, notably in Saturday's 5-0 hammering by Gillingham, the Scot has looked a solid performer.

Robertson - who would command a fee if he opts to leave - has also impressed when he has had a run in the side. Injuries and an international call-up by Australia have disrupted his second season at the club but at 21 he looks to have a bright future.
