MEMBERS of the Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale Council for Voluntary Service are celebrating the exchange of contracts for a new resource centre in the former North West Water offices in Yorkshire Street, Burnley.
It will provide accommodation, centralised services and facilities for all voluntary community groups in East Lancashire.
It will also create a "one stop shop'' for resources, information and activities.
Civic leaders and representatives of the various organisations who will use the centre enjoyed a buffet lunch "centre warming'' and were able to inspect the building.
An open surgery was due to be held today at Burnley Town Hall to give everyone who may want to use the drop in centre an opportunity to get further information from project manager Ruth Passman.
