TWO apprentice bakers have joined the upper crust!

Philip Gribble, 19, and Paul Tagg, 18, have both won awards for their skills.

Philip, a former pupil of Fisher More High School, Colne, was named Blackburn College's best second year part-time bakery student and former Habergham High School pupil Paul won the Bill Hunt Memorial Trophy for the student who had made the most progress.

The teenagers are both taking part in the XTEND Modern Apprenticeship scheme and working at Oddies Bakery in Nelson.
