I HAVE never known Rovers to have as many injuries and suspensions as they have at present.
Even so, I was very disappointed with the performances against Sheffield Wednesday and Newcastle.
Against Wednesday, the players looked very tired and out of sorts. Against Newcastle, the defence looked better and the midfield worked hard, but up front they were punchless.
Kevin Davies is completely lacking in confidence, and in my opinion, needs a long run in the reserves.
Nathan Blake tries hard and is quite good in the air, but is not very dangerous on the ground.
Damien Duff was the best attacker and he was substituted for some unknown reason.
At the end of the season, Brian Kidd must have a good sort-out, with the addition of a good centre back and midfield player.
He must sell a couple of forwards, too.
If all players are fit and don't get suspended, I believe Rovers can stay up, but it's going to take 100 per cent effort from every individual.
