I AM proud of the Blackburn Hawks fans because of their attitude at the game against Oxford.
Just over halfway through the second period, after Oxford's goalie had been stretchered off, the Blackburn fans were brilliant.
As Oxford didn't bring many supporters, the Blackburn fans decided to 'adopt' the team for a night, so we raised the roof chanting for Oxford.
By this time, we'd obviously won the game and Williams, for Oxford, had just scored a goal which was disallowed. He then received a two-minute penalty for arguing with the referee. It was clear to all the spectators that the puck went in the net and we let the ref know it. Nevertheless, the goal wasn't allowed.
The crowd were terrific that night, cheering for an appreciated Oxford team. The whole atmosphere about that game was warm and friendly, and it makes the game a pleasure to watch.
I'd also like to say thanks to all the Hawks' players for a great season. I still believe that we can win the league.
