POLICE are planning a high profile campaign in a bid to cut crime on a troubled Blackburn estate.
Blackburn police say Shadsworth is a crime hotspot.
Local officers are concerned about the number of domestic and shed burglaries in the area.
And in a bid to counter the problem the police are planing a two-day publicity campaign which will include a high profile police presence and a visit from high-ranking officers. A mobile display centre staffed by crime prevention experts will be open near the neighbourhood community centre in Rothesay Road on Monday, March 8 and Tuesday, March 9 from 10am-8pm.
The police are urging people to visit the centre and talk to police officers.
Judith Finney, from Blackburn police's community safety office, said: "We want to hear from members of the public about their fears and concerns.
"If we know what crimes affect people most in the area then we can try and do something to solve the problems."
A similar exercise is being planned for the Audley area of Blackburn in the near future.
