A FACTORY extension that will create up to 75 jobs has been approved by councillors.
Engineering firm Mal Tool, which supplies parts to the aircraft industry, was last night granted planning permission for the 3,485sq metre extension to its works in Cotton Tree Lane, Colne.
The firm said in its application to Pendle Council that the extra space would mean up to 75 extra jobs on the site. It employs 130 at Colne and Dunnockshaw, Burnley.
The council's Colne area committee granted permission, despite objections from local residents who claimed it would mean extra traffic and pollution.
A proposal by Coun Alan Davies that councillors and planning officers meet with the company to discuss extra landscaping was agreed by the committee.
